TENS Unit

TENS units are Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulators and are very useful for treating pain. They are easy to use at home, under your own control and they work by releasing endorphins to stop the pain signals in your brain. TENS units are also very effective in reducing inflammation and promoting healing. Most physiotherapists will use TENS machines as part of the treatment regimen from injury as they also work very well to break up scar tissue.
